As Life Passes You By | Edmonton Photographer
I have to admit it…February has flown by so fast, that I don’t even know if I am coming or I am going. I can’t believe that in two days, it’s offically March.
Last week, I attended WPPI’s (Wedding Portrait Photographers International) annual convention in not so sunny Las Vegas! I had the oppertunity to attend many of the world’s top photography seminars. I got to meet some of my favourite rockstar photographers
In one night and a chance meet up by an escalator I got to meet my inspirations. (how cool is that!)
I can’t wait to share with you some new ideas and new inspiration in the year to come.
Since I can’t post a novel of a post without sharing some images from one of my last sessions. Here is a sneak peek of my session with the ever so beautiful Londyn. She is an aspiring model, and a fantastic Ukranian Dancer. (she showed me her moves…wow!)
I like the oppertunity to step out of my comfort zone and photograph older children. It really makes me stop and think about posing more and concentrate on the real expressions.
Here are two of my favourites from the session.

I will be away from the studio from Feb 15-22nd.
I am going to a huge photography tradeshow and convention in Las Vegas. I will not be returning any phone calls while I am away, and all emails received will be returned when I get back. I am very anxious to to see new products offerings and meet some of the worlds best photographers.
Take care.

I was fortunate to photograph little Gaius on his first birthday!!
When he arrived to the studio, he hadn’t been having the greatest first birthday (his little friend at daycare gave him a bit of a lovebite on his face) yet, but I am sure that after the session and a nap, (missed the morning one) his birthday was the best birthday he had so far.
Thank you for spending the afternoon of your birthday with me. Take care.

I first met Oliver when he was still in his momma’s tummy. We had planned to do maternity session, but little Oliver decided to come earlier than expected. After being in the hospital for days and days, he finally got to go home for the very first time. A couple of days after getting all settled in, Oliver came to me for his newborn session. He was so very tiny. (check out his blog post from the beginning of June last year.)
He is not so tiny anymore. Now at 9 months he is the size of a full term baby at 9 months. I couldn’t believe how big he was when I saw him. I guess I was just expecting him to be smaller than all of the other babies at 9 months, but he has definately proven that just because he was early, doesn’t mean he is going to be small.
Oliver had the pleasure of being my first session in the new studio. Here are a couple of images from his session.

I had the honour of meeting this sweet baby girl when she was just 5 days old. (At my favourite time to photograph newborns.)
She was a delight to photograph. She slept and did all of the poses we wanted her to do.
When I am photographing newborns I want to capture their wrinkles, their fuzz, their tiny body parts and their first little smiles –these are the memories I want the parents to have. I want the parents to be able to look back: days, weeks, months and even years later and say to themselves –”I remember that, god was she ever fuzzy!”
It was a pleasure to meet you Ava, I can’t wait to see you again soon.

Time sure does fly by. I would like to welcome Holly back to the blog. This beautiful baby girl just turned one last month.
This is the fourth time (once in the belly) I have photographed her.
1 is such a fun age!! I wish sometimes that babies this age could talk and tell me what they were thinking, but then again, I am sure their moms and dads want them to stay little as long as they can.
Since Holly can’t quite talk, I have put some dialogue together to go with her adorable expressions.

“This is my vogue pose”
“Ohh daddy, stop with the kisses, your embarrassing me.”
“Grandma, it’s me Holly. I need you to come over right now, mommy is trying to get me to eat my vegetables again.”
